I'm passionate to a fault sometimes....my greatest strengths are also some of my greatest weaknesses....I am inspired by unlikely people, places, and things...my goal in life is to be a day maker, someone who impacts everyone they meet in a profound and positive way...making people smile in an otherwise negative and discouraging world is the greatest reward you can strive for. People often ask me why I am "just a bartender", and my response is always the same....As a member of the service industry, I am often the last line of hope, the shoulder to cry on, the only one who will listen, the only friend some have, I get the chance to help change people's lives just by being there. I know their life stories, their wives' and kids' names, everything they love/hate about their jobs....if someone has reached a point of despair, I have the chance to maybe change their outlook a little. I have had quite a few bumps in the road of life, and while at times I thought there was no hope, there was always something better ahead.
I have a wonderful, supportive family...who even though we don't always (or ever haha) agree, always has my back. I'm a blessed child of divorce because not only do I have a mom and a dad, I have also gained a wonderful stepfather and another set of grandparents and all the wisdom and life experience they have to share with me!
The friends I surround myself with are all positive, trustworthy, outgoing, brilliant, loving people. I am not sure how I became so fortunate to have them in my life, but I could not be happier about it.
There are a few people in this world that inspire me either through music, philanthropy, or writing.
The first I'd like to share is the incredibly talented Kristian Bush (Who I have had the pleasure of meeting twice now.) When Kristian was starting to do some wonderful things with sugarland, I was a freshman in high school just REALLY discovering his solo and Billy Pilgrim days. I am so thankful for the friends and family that had such different views on music for introducing me to his songs. No band or musician has ever been able to move me the way that he does...when he sings and plays, I can feel it in my soul....and joined with Jennifer Nettles, it has only gotten better. Their lyrics can literally bring me to my knees at times, and the way they love and reach out to their fans in such a humble and giving way...there just isn't anyone better.
The second would be Mitch Albom...He's written several books that changed my life and my way of thinking after I read them. If you have not read "Tuesday's With Morrie," you are really missing out on some incredible life lessons.
Since I am just dragging on here, I'll finish this out with Barry Greenstein....he is one of the best poker players in the world, and he donates the majority of his winnings to charities. I think that speaks volumes for his character!
I will leave you with that, but please feel free to ask me anything else you would like to know

Brittany~ "Tuesdays with Morrie" is one THE most moving books I have ever read. I happen to finish it, on a plane. I started to cry. It brought up so many covered up emotions...I couldn't help it. People all around were concerned. But the appreciation for life it brought and continued optimism it has brought has changed me. Somewhat like the songs of Sugarland, and some others. Just makes life better!

And impressed with your positive nature regarding divorce (and comments you posted to the girl about the guy not coming around anymore). Maybe Jennifer's 2nd will lead us all to FINALLY finding the right person. Best to you in 2012!!

Thanks for friending me. After reading your about section all I could think is what a beautiful spirit and view of life. I too enjoy getting the opportunity to positively impact the lives of those around me and those I've not yet met. For me I don't know why it's so easy to give to others and see the lifes beauty where they believe it doesn't exsist. I myself have had a fair share of bumps in the road forming me into the person I am today. So when people ask me what do will my live it's always to make a difference.

Brittany, thank you for friending me. When I was your age I often heard "oh, your just a waitress" and I always smiled and told them yes, but I will be the best waitress they would ever meet. My goal was to make their bad day good and their good day better. Make them enjoy spending their hard earned money!

Jess, I am so excited to find someone else that loves him like I do! Hahaha. KB is such an inspiration, and not only hearing him, but watching him perform is one of the most incredible experiences I've had. Meeting him after being a fan for so many years was hands down the best two days of my life! He was so humble and so kind to everyone around, and he was completely fine with me being so awkward hahaha. It's nice to encounter someone who has so much influence, but still remembers how he got to that point. All too often the fans are forgotten, but that is absolutely not the case with him. If you ever get the chance to meet and chat with him, you will not be disappointed in the least!!
And of course, thank you for accepting my request =) It's so great to be making new sugarfamily friends!

First of all, thanks for friending me.

Second...jealousy oozed from my pores seeing your photo. I was in the very front of the Sugarpit this year and had the privilege of being sung to be the very soulful Kristian and getting a pick tossed at me. BUT, never have I gotten the extreme privilege of meeting him. You've met him twice? Girl, I am extremely jealous. I, too, am absolutely enamored with Billy Pilgrim and their unique, soulful sound. Kristian could sing the alphabet and spill his soul out doing so, I swear. He has the voice of an angel. Anyway, I'm going to stop rambling now. Thanks again for the request!
