Chicago, May 6: Were you there?

Fri, May 6, 2011 at 9:10 PM

Chicago, there just aren't words. You were a sold-out crowd, but more importantly, you were crazy fun. You taught us new line dances in the pit. You sang so loud during "Stay" that the walls were shaking. And you helped us get our project for Alabama underway with amazing generosity (more info on that soon). Only one word can describe tonight's show: Awesomesauce.

This was an awesome concert!! My friend and her 2 daughters were there, we got two sets of seats so we were split up, but that is ok it was both of the girls FIRST concerts!! It was my birthday the next day, May 7, and it was a great way to start my birthday and mothers day weekend. BUT, it was not about me that night, my friend and her youngest daughter, Hannah, were sitting in their seats before the concert started and the SL manager asked her if she wanted to carry the LOVE flag!!! So she got to sit on the stage for the end of the show and she got to walk with the LOVE flag and she is SOOO excited she got to keep it and it is in her room!!!! What an amazing night for her!! One she will NEVER forget!!!

BarbK--I could not agree with your post more! I thought the Nashville show was full of energy, but it was no where close to the energy inside All State Arena! Best show of the year, so far... each one just keeps getting better! Can't wait for Rockford in August!

Chicago was a fabulous night, could not have asked for more from my first solo show and my first night it the pit. Had a great time hanging out in line with other amazing fans and making new friends. You're never really alone in Sugarland. From Matt thru LBT to the final note of Like a Prayer the night was amazing.

Last night was AMAZING!! There is something so powerful, inspiring, and fun about seeing people do something they so clearly love. Jennifer and Kristian, you were both obviously having such a great time last night and that was great to witness. I was blown away by how powerful and energetic last night was. What a great 22nd birthday present!!! I will never forget last night.

PS..."Hit Me Baby One More Time" was such a great combination of my 90's childhood and current adulthood. I loved it! Such a great surprise!

Hello, I was at your show last night at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois (just outside of Chicago, Illinois). This was the 5th time I saw your show and it gets better each time! First, I enjoyed Matt Nathanson as the opening act. Although he only played a few songs, with one cover song, it was an enjoyable set. He seemed genuinely excited that you folks have covered his song “Come On Get Higher”. Little Big Town followed with a great set as well. To be honest, when I first saw Little Big Town perform, at your Bloomington, Illinois concert, I did not know much about them; however, that band has grown on me. As for your performance, after the show, the only comment I could muster was “Wow”. As the lights dimmed and you started to play “All We Are” I could feel the energy build amongst the crowd. That energy erupted when you dropped the curtain and started the show! By the time you got to “Tonight” the energy amongst the crowd higher than I have ever experienced at the Allstate Arena. As the show progressed, I was memorized by the voices of Jennifer and Kristian along with their stage presence. The remix performance of “Everyday America” remains my favorite part of the show. Cee Lo better watch out with your performance of “Forget You”. I got a kick out of your tweet about helping him on The Voice (I do think he will need some help with the country performer). During “Baby Girl”, Ms. Nettles made a nice tribute to all the mothers in the Chicago area as the show was performed on Mother’s Day Weekend. During the performance of “Stay”, I could feel the walls and floor shaking from the audience joining in the singing of that song. As the show started to come to a close, the performance of “Stand Up”, which also featured Matt Nathanson and Little Big Town was inspirational to say the least. Personally, I love your project to raise funds for the people of Alabama. Finally, as the show concluded with “Like a Prayer”, it was a great wrap to the show again also featuring Mr. Nathanson and Little Big Town. Thank you for another wonderful evening and look forward to seeing you again soon!!
